Senior Moments
This was written in November, 1999. That was a little early, I think. The recording was made on May 1, 2013. At least as far as I can remember.
Lyrics
Well, I’m livin’ a good life, at least I think so.
Got the mortgage paid down, I watch the portfolio.
But sometimes I go downstairs
And I find I’m unaware
Of just exactly what it was I meant to do there.
And I’m having one of those senior moments.
They happen more these days.
I’d tell you all about ‘em
But I don’t remember.
Well, I’m feelin’ good this year, at least I think so.
‘Course my vision’s not so clear, and I could use a new elbow.
But I really can’t complain.
I still have a working brain,
Although at times I find it’s working kind of slow.
When it’s havin’ one of those senior moments.
They happen more these days.
I’d tell you all about ‘em
But I don’t remember.
Senior moments, I have ‘em all the time.
Senior moments, they are just a state of mind.
They don’t bother me, for goodness sake.
They are just nature’s way of telling me to take a little break.
I have family and good friends, at least I think so.
You are the nicest bunch of folks that I will ever know.
You are scattered near and far,
And I know I’m up to par
If I can just remember who the heck you are.
But I’m havin’ one of those senior moments.
They happen more these days.
I’d tell you all about it
But I won’t remember.
Senior moments, I have ‘em all the time.
Senior moments, they are just a state of mind.
They don’t bother me, for goodness sake.
They are just nature’s way of telling me to take a little break.
