This was our contribution to EUPC10 (European Permaculture Convergence of 2010 in Belgium) and all about our ongoing commitment to working cooperatively with other PC teachers to synergise around what is probably the most important curriculum development responsibility for future generations: the Permaculture Design Certificate and Permaculture Design Diploma.

We presented 3 concrete proposals:

1) To actively support the Chaordic Permaculture Institute project so that we together create a truly international and democratic, non-centralizing structure that supports and better interconnects the permaculture network.

2) To develop together, at European level, an improved PC Certificate Curriculum that reflects the new times, keeps staying as a referent for the most advanced in sustainability education in existence & can be seriously considered an internationally agreed standard.

3) To coordinate efforts also around the PC Diploma and re-design the diploma work-net proposals in light of the experiences and observations to date.

2Oct14 - after 2 years of trying to engage* with the European Teachers Partnership, now that the European funding has been used up, they're finally coming around to trying to design a way to continue to work using online tools.

* (which insisted on physical meetings in places with bad internet access - so those of us who asked to be included virtually, couldn't. I passed the invitation around but none of us in the Academy wanted to go to - I insisted quite a bit but didn't manage to get any of our students interested to go even with all travel & accomodation costs payed for)

23 feb11 - In many ways this was a complete waste of time, but the lack of response, just a few months later, inspired us to re-frame the whole effort in the direction of Integral Permaculture (as we realised most of our difficulties and frustrations are probably "mean-green" based) and the PDC+++, a year-long journey which is (amongst other things! brilliant multi-functioning...) also the long conversation about curriculum development with permaculture teachers at international level that we were hoping to engage in via these (fairly useless, it seems) international physical conferences.
