Sennheiser HD424

No idea how old these are but I reckon I bought these in 1981 or 82. Battered and bruised they are still working.

As you can see they are scratched to bits. The jack plug and the wiring is the original.

Only thing I have changed are the foam pads. They still sound great.

I don't know when these stopped to be sold but there is no shortage of headphones to choose from nowadays.

These are open headphones and produce a very clear sound (this is my opinion only so I am no great expert).

The bass is well defined but not overpowering. The mid range and high notes are also well presented with no cause for complaint.

These cans are open so you can hear them if used in public.

Tested on my iPhone (via a 3.5mm converter) and it plays well.Obviously as these are 50 ohm impedance headphones you will not get the volume you would get via an AMP.

On my SONY 100 Watt Amp these can be driven to saturation and beyond.

I would like to thank Sennheiser for the product I have used for so many years....

The headphone pads can still be bought....at thomann
