12. William James Fullerton 1888 [1512]

WILLIAM JAMES FULLERTON was born in Launceston, Tasmania on the 20 June 1888 (372/33). It appears that his family regularly travelled between, Victoria and Tasmania. His mother Josephine (nee Hardy) had family who lived there.

William married 12 HAZEL DOROTHY JAMES [1507] in Victoria, Australia on the 22 June 1910 (2707) Hazel, daughter of Charles William Homeward James and Mary Frances Treacy, was born in Malvern, Victoria on the 10 Novembr 1888 (5109 reg 1889) and was the cousin of William.

William was a member of the House of Assembly in the parliament of Tasmania from the 25 January 1913 but retired from this post on the 31 May 1919. He was also a solicitor/ lawyer.

The 1914 electoral roll for Tasmania shows that he and wife Hazel were living in New Town Tasmania and that time and this was still his residence in the 1919 electoral roll.

In 1936, William and Hazel left Australia aboard the 'Monterey' bound for Los Angeles in California, USA. The ship left from Sydney in New South Wales. The ship arrived in the USA on the 5 October 1936.

It is uncertain when they returned to Australia but the UK incoming passenger lists show that in 1956. He and Hazel boarded the 'Iberia' in Sydney, Australia bound for London in England. The ship , a P& O steamship,arrived in London on the 4 December 1956. It states that their intended stay was permanent and their address was 11 Alleyn Pk, West Dulwich, SE 21 (record 4637/01)

It appears that William and Hazel had no issue.
