- Teledyne Brown was doing a generally good job of providing simulation services to the US government. The company's management and business contacts were ex-military personnel. This afforded the company critical contacts into their potential military customer base. However, these individuals brought with them stern management styles and somewhat imposing competitiveness natures - both traits which were of considerable importance in the military world. However, the competitiveness sometimes carried over a little too intact into the business world. This sometimes had the unfortunate side effect of bringing competition rather than cohesion between the various teams within the company.
Notable Accomplishments -
- The famous "Side View Profile". This allowed communications planners to view on the workstation screen a side view of the radio communications paths over the topographical profile of the terrain between remote radios. This allowed planners better locations for the communications-dependent units to operate out of.
