General Observations -

    • Jerry found that his coworker design team members to be of the highest caliber. These individuals were all of the 'can-do' mentality. And with them, most anything actually could be done. Very dedicated, hard working design engineers.

Notable Accomplishments -

    • Jerry knew that computer design was one of his weak areas. So when asked to architect a pair of telecom-grade compute servers, he made clear this fact, but went ahead and jumped head-long into it. Within a few months, he not only learned the ATCA system requirements, but designed architectures for two ATCA-compliant server blades - one Intel-based, and one PowerPC-based. Flextronics had recently decided to leave the ATCA market, so when it bought Solectron, the developments of these blades were halted. Jerry did find months later that other companies, already established in the ATCA industry, had used the same basic Intel design in their development.
    • Development of two telecom blade product requirement specifications. One of these is available at the bottom of this page for your review.
    • Developed a tutorial presentation on the ATCA standard. Attached at the bottom of this page.
