How do I add an e-mail address to a mailing list?

You need to add the e-mail address to the corresponding Google Group, usually pack95 and/or one of the den groups like pack95den2. This involves going to the Google Group (a list of them all can be found here) and "inviting" the person with the e-mail address to join the group. To invite click on "Invite members" (of course, you need to be logged into a Google account with management permission to do this). Then click on "Add members directly" (assuming you are sure they want to join), entering the e-mail address and a short welcome message, and clicking on the "Add members" button. If you want to add a member with a nickname the format is:

"nick name" <address@isp.com>

If you want to add multiple addresses at once just separate them all by commas. You can also refer to Google Help.

How can I edit the web site?

First of all, you need to be logged in to a Google account that has permission to edit the site. This includes the pack admin account and should also include each member of the pack95leaders Google Group. Assuming you are logged in to such an account you simply need to click the "Edit page" button at the upper right hand corner of the page you want to edit (if you don't see the button you may need to click on "Sign in", which is in small print way down at the very bottom of every page). A good place to get started with editing is the Getting Started Guide.

How can I add a slide show to the web site?

Follow the instructions in Creating Slide Show.

How do I get a Tour Permit?

First of all, technically a tour permit is supposed to be submitted two weeks in advance (though Council will attempt to approve one within a couple of days). Go to www.myscouting.scouting.org (you are best off using Internet Explorer as your internet browser on this site). Log in (you'll need an account) and click on "Tour Permits" under "Unit Tools". Then follow the instructions to execute these steps:
  1. Vehicles. Enter information about your vehicles. If a parent or leader is transporting someone other than their child then that vehicle and the driver's information must be submitted with the tour permit. This information can be re-used for each tour permit, so it only has to be entered once. For each vehicle you will need the Vehicle Make, Model and Year; the Total the Vehicle will carry based on the number of seat belts, including for the driver; the Owner’s legal name; the Owner’s valid Driver’s License Number and State; the value of Liability insurance per person and per accident; and the value of Property Damage insurance carried on the vehicle. You can modify vehicle information while in the middle of completing a tour permit, but must afterward enter "Update Permit".
  2. Training. Enter training information for leaders on the tour. This information can be re-used for each tour permit, so it only has to be entered once. You can modify training information while in the middle of completing a tour permit, but must afterward enter "Update Permit".
  3. Permit. Click "Start" to begin a new tour permit and then enter all the required information. Be prepared to enter the travel itinerary, route, and distance. Make sure to check the box about having received parents' consent.
  4. Submit. Click "Submit" to submit the form electronically. You will get e-mail telling you what you are missing (in which case you can modify and resubmit the application) or, if you are good and/or lucky, approval.

Why is there a special category in PackMaster for Webelos beltloops?

All the loops the scouts earn as Webelos must be recorded as "Webelos" loops. This is true whether they've previously earned the loops or not. The reason for this is many of the Webelos activities require the completion of a particular loop or type of loop as a Webelos. In other words, a loop earned earlier in the scout's career can't be counted towards the completion of a Webelos activity. This sometimes means completing a loop for a second time, but in such a case he Webelos will not actually receive a second loop. We record it in that case for record-keeping purposes only.
