Cemetery Association

The Colony Cemetery Association is simply the collection of people with an interest in the well-being of the Colony Cemetery and adjacent buildings and grounds. The Association has been in continuous operation since the time of the original deed of land by John A. and Margaret I. Young in 1876. The original trustees of the association were C.J. Lane, T. S. Menefee, and J. T. Campbell. The officers for 2010-2011 are:

President: John Beck

Vice-President: Karen Monsen

Secretary: Amy Beck

Treasurer: Etta Brown

Cemetery Manager: Vacant. In the interim, contact the President, John Beck for information regarding burials.

The Association meets once a year on the first Sunday in May at the Colony Homecoming.

A significant source of income to support the work of the association derives from an endowment established in the year 2000. A copy of the authorizing document may be viewed in the third attachment below.
