William A. Smith

William A. Smith was a pattern maker for the CAR, who worked on many of their passenger cars.

He was also an expert marksman and won the Beasley trophy in Great Britain for his shooting prowess. He also served in the Boer War and was mentioned in a two-volume history of the subject.

He lived on Cathcart Street in Lower Town.
