William Shillito Cranston

William Cranston was born in Arnprior in 1863. After graduating from McGill University as a civil engineer, Cranston practised throughout Canada. He was the surveyor on the OA & PSRR.

He later worked for the CPR in the construction of the Crow’s Nest Pass, and, at the time of his death in 1902, was the City Engineer for Ottawa.
