Yellow Transparent

This is a ubiquitous apple in parts of the lower 48, and many people have fond memories of these juicy yellow apples from their childhood days. Like many early ripening apples, Yellow Transparent does not keep long. It is sweet juicy eating for only a short time period. As a result, many people consider Yellow Transparent the ultimate applesauce apple, with large crops quickly turned into applesauce so that they didn't go to waste. While often described as "extremely hardy" by other websites, that means zone 2 or 3, so not among the hardiest apples that we grow.
