Turnitin is a tool that looks for similarities between assignment submissions, and helps teachers to identify issues with citations and plagiarism. A Turnitin report highlights any text in the assignment that already appears in Turnitin’s database of student papers, web content, periodicals, journals, and publications. Turnitin aids academic integrity through plagiarism prevention, by fostering critical thinking and helping students self-identify and correct issues with their paraphrasing and citations.

Turnitin is integrated into Canvas and available in the SpeedGrader.
