The Learning and Teaching Academy (LTA) Google Site is used to share learning and teaching resources with staff and students at City of Glasgow College. The website is administered and maintained by the Learning Technologies team. Many training materials are authored by Libraries, Learning Technologies, and Lecture Developments teams in the College.  

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. Therefore, it is important we prioritise accessibility in the design of all areas of this Google Site. For example, this means users can:

5. | Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). 6. | Contacting us by phone or visiting us in person

The Learning Technologies team operate out of the City and Riverside Campuses and can accommodate staff visitors. We can make and receive phone calls using a text relay service for people who are D/deaf, hearing impaired or have a speech impediment.

Audio induction loops installed in the College can be made available for in person visits. If you contact us before your visit, we can arrange a BSL sign language translator or other services to help you complete the service with us in person.

City of Glasgow College is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

 The Learning and Teaching Academy (LTA) Google Site is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions’ listed below.

9.1 | Non-compliance with accessibility regulations

This section covers issues that we need to fix and are working to do so.

We list below further areas within the LTA Google Site that we know are not fully accessible. We plan to fix or provide alternatives for all issues that we are made aware of alongside our periodic internal testing and auditing processes.

9.3 | Content that's not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

9.3.1 | PDFs and other documents

Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services, and forms published as Word documents. By September 2020, we plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages.

9.3.2 | Video content

We encourage staff to add captions to live video streams but note live video streams are exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations (Links to an external site.). We also have some existing pre-recorded video content that was published before the 23rd September 2020. This content is also exempt from the regulations.
