New to Teaching
About 'New to Teaching'
The 'New to Teaching' Canvas course is designed specifically to equip you with the tools required practically to carry out your lecturing role. The course itself is segmented into 20 weeks of learning with the anticipation that you will use roughly 1 hour per week of your time to complete the learning. You can go through this unit on your own and in your own pace, however there are some pre-requisites in place to make sure you complete the learning before attempting any assessment. The assessment is not graded, but is marked and feedback provided. ideally upon completing this unit, you would register for the PDA for the following August.
Course Modes
You work through the online programme in your own time.
You are also invited to supportive online, monthly meetings to discuss your integration and the programme.
The minimum time to complete the course is 20 hours.
Description
This course supports Lecturers to become a fully integrated member of their COGC teaching team. Key features are:

Quizzes in many modules to check understanding.
Participants
This course is for all teaching staff, in 0-12 months of employment at COGC. All new teaching staff at COGC are contacted within one week or starting at work, and invited to join this programme.
