Great Start
We have had a great start to the school year. Thanks to the hard work of the staff and the engagement of the students, we've had a positive kickoff to the year.
Let's keep the momentum going as we move into next week. We have transitioned to full instructional mode!
Important Information
Tardy Reporting
By the third day of school, we have been able to establish a routine within carpool and get busses on campus in a more timely manner.
Starting Monday, August 14, tardy enforcement will begin. A tardy is recorded any time a student is not in class by its official start time (at the start of school and during regular class changes). Late arrivals to school by student drivers or carpool do count into a student's tardy record. Student tardies accumulate throughout the full semester and consequences begin after the 4th tardy.
Transportation Concerns
We understand that there are a number of families experiencing transportation issues. This flyer provides contact information for the transportation department. Please direct any transportation or bus concerns to the transportation department.
If there is an issue on the school side of a transportation concern, please reach out to our Dean of Students, Mr. Felder, at jfelder@ebrschools.org.
Liberty Magnet School App
The Liberty app has be moved into the EBR School System App. Please download the EBRPSS School App. You can now select Liberty Magnet and access our app within system app to access our entire app with all of its features. Please make sure your notifications are on and you register for Push Notifications and Weekly and/or daily reminders.
Open House
Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, August 22 from 5:30pm - 7:30 pm.
We will be hosting 8 different workshops for parents while teachers will be available for meet and greet from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.
Club Week
Clubs add significant value to students high school experience. They create leadership opportunities, build community, teach students to work together, and provide students with a positive experience with people who share a common interest.
We are quickly approaching club week sign-up (August 23). All students will sign up for clubs, and club meetings are held monthly during the school day.
Football Scrimmage
Thursday, August 17, 6:00
Football will travel to Holy Cross High School in New Orleans on Thursday evening for a 6:00pm scrimmage. This is the first time our student athletes will be in action this season.
Class Meetings
This week we held class meetings with all students to review Liberty and EBR policies and procedures. A copy of the presentation is linked in the Weekly Update for parents to review with their students. Please pay particular attention to the LMHS Dress Code. One of the unique things about Liberty is that we don't wear uniforms. Let's make sure our free dress environment remains in compliance.
The Liberty Dress Code can be found on pages 17-18 of the LMHS Student Handbook.
