As a committee with lived experiences of studying at University with disabilities, we have first hand experience of some of the difficulties involved in navigating University support. So we wanted to create an frequently asked question resource to help make navigation easier for other students.
A team of us sat down and collated all the aspects of support we have accessed or tried to access and considered what difficulties we had had as well what information would have been helpful to know earlier.
We then organised all of this into a series of questions, adding answers from what we have learnt along the well as well adding some advice and knowledge from the Psychology Department's Disability Champion.
We now have a 'Disability Support FAQs' page as part of the 'University Disability Support' section of our website.
This details information student support plans, disabled student allowance and exceptional circumstance.
There is also the option at the bottom of the page to ask a question that could be added to the FAQs.
Special thanks go to Mia Hanson and Samuel Harris for their work on this campaign.
