This summer project will affect my art because it let me dip my toes into new mediums and let me express ideas that I’d been wanting to try but couldn’t find time for.
The most important page in this project is my skin page where I used thread to stitch together the wound and used lipstick to create congealed blood. This is my favorite page because the thought came from nowhere and I was just struck on the last day of summer with this idea for a stitched wound. I also loved the texture this page created and how it made an almost 3D feel.
I was very committed to creating unique ideas for each page while also following the prompt. It took me many hours to complete, but overall I’m very proud of how it turned out in the end. I would assess my work highly because of the commitment and detail on every page.
Commitment: 100%
Effort: 100%
You can tell that every page has a different idea, and in total I used around 10 different mediums to create differences amongst the pages. The effort is shown in the pages like the stitches because I used many different mediums to make it realistic and in pages like the freedom page, the hours it took to dry and reapply paint shows effort.
