North Eastern Premium Cat Bedding
The name of my business is “North Eastern Premium Cat Bedding”. The name is straightforward and gets to the point of what the company is, which is a cat bedding store located within the north east. The target audience are cat owners because it is a feline based store. Within both of my logos I Included cats and cat trees/beds. The reason for this is because I want to communicate to my customers that this is a cat store that specializes in high quality bedding and furniture. In addition to the inclusion of cats I added warm and inviting colors to my logos. Pet stores should be friendly spaces to shop for your furred companions. A logo that is uninviting in nature may express the wrong message and deter people from shopping at your store.
The first step of my artistic process was finding out what my target audience was. In this case it was cat owners so I knew I had to include a cat within a logo. I also went with lighter, more friendly colors in order to make my business feel more inviting to pet owners. Both logos use different shapes. The first one uses a circular like base while the second uses a more rectangular base.
Three concepts I learned about logo design were target audience, colors, and shapes. All three of these concepts tie into making a good logo design. You need to know your target audience in order to create a logo that will cater to them. Colors and shapes play a major role within a logo. Depending upon what shapes and colors you use to represent your business customers may or may not feel inclined to consume what you produce. For example, if you're a cupcake bakery and you have a logo that is dark in nature and has a symbol that has nothing to do with the bakery, business might be poorer then if you had created a logo that was better suited for your target audience.
