I think I improved my overall photographing skills, especially composition and I've learned how best to arrange my subject in the frames of my pictures. I still need practice taking photos outside since I've discovered it's much more difficult to control natural lighting. I loved taking pictures inside with neutral backgrounds as shown below in the pictures of the camera and shell. As you can see in the dog photo, I'm still learning about the use of natural lighting. I definitely got more familiar with photo editing software like Photoshop through several assignments like Photos with Quotes & our Pop Art Project. Since this is an ongoing process, I'll continue to hone my skills and hopefully take some amazing pictures in the Galapagos Islands! I look forward to taking Photography 2 next year to continue my photography journey and my goal is to start working with film photography!
I hope to improve my framing, lighting, and the perspective I use for my subjects. I would like to specifically focus on photographing moving things and sceneries to prepare me for my trip to the Galapagos in the spring! I'm interested in wildlife photography, so I hope to get some good practice with that in photography 1! I also hope this class will prepare me with the skills to edit photos properly (particularly with Photoshop).
