Abstraction Photography

Purpose:

To make an object look like something completely different through the use of angles, lighting, and overall composition

"Snail" This is my favorite picture from this whole project! I love how it looks like a slug or some sort of animal.

"Spiral" I love the look of the natural swirl in sideview of the shell

This series was a challenge for me. I tried to make a Stats textbook look interesting & appealing!

"One million pages" I love this close up. I think the slight irregularity of the pages are really interesting.

"slanted pages" This picture is my favorite from the 5. I like how I used a range of focus to make this look more interesting.

"Asymmetry" This photo is pretty interesting for me because it is so asymmetrical.

"Book spine" I like this photo since it has some curved lines and I think it's visually interesting.

The shell collection along with the textbook photos were taken on 1/6/25.

"Detailing" I loved photographing this camera! There were so many different points of view & perspectives I could use.

"Cut open" I did this series on a pomegranate at home. I've always loved the varied textures and colors in pomegranate.

"A look inside" This is a bit closer up into the incision I made in my pomegranate.

"Inside out" I love the look of the pomegranate inside out.

"Bumpy" The look and feel of the white inside part of pomegranates is so interesting to me. I also like how this photo is so different.

The camera photos were taken on 1/8/25

The pomegranate ones were from home on 1/9/25
