Career Exploration
A Career Exploration ELO is a semester long opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to investigate a specific occupation or career path. Students conduct independent research, informational interviews and job shadows when appropriate. This is an excellent opportunity for students to explore a career path prior to gaining experience through an internship or work study ELO.

In order to receive credit for a Career Exploration ELO, a student must complete the following components:
Complete an ELO design plan identifying an essential question and learning goals.
Reflect weekly on your progress including discussing your progress with your ELO Coordinator and identify next steps or changes to help meet your learning goals.
Research your project through online and print materials, career interest surveys, informational interviews and/or job shadows. Create and submit a works cited/resource list.
Develop a tangible Final Product or Final Reflection related to your essential question and learning goals that demonstrates your knowledge and skills on the subject.
Prepare a Final Presentation to summarize your learning.
