Name Design

Purpose

To review the Fundamentals of Design

To examine how the Fundamentals of Design pertains to “Graphic Design”;

To use creative problem-solving skills to create a unique, original “Name” Design.

I learned that in order for a graphic to look pleasing, it needs to use a handful of the elements of design. In my illustration I used line by outlining all of my major shapes, and I used shape to create simple-to-understand objects. I also mixed balance in my drawing as well, using red in the bottom-left corner and the right side to even out the vibrant colors. Finally, I used a bit of texture for the bricks on the building’s side, and the swirls of the smoke. After putting multiple of these elements of design in my artwork, it really became visible how much they add to the overall engagement of a piece.
