My Goals For This Semester
Graphic Design has always been interesting to me. This semester I hope to expand upon my skills of Photoshop and other software, as well as learn how to draft logos and designs by hand. I want to experiment with types of design I am unfamiliar with and create art that I am proud of. Another thing that I hope to accomplish is creating art that pushes my experiences and comfort.
Reflecting On My Goals For The Semester
This semester I was able to reach my goals. Graphic design has always been intriguing to me, and I was fortunate enough to be able to learn a lot about the craft. I learned a lot of new techniques for Photoshop, and learned a lot about the benefits of drafting designs by hand. I was able to experiment with the Wacom board, a type of digital art that I had never touched before, and expanded my skills of drawing and using layers. I also got to learn about graphic designers around the world from the YouTube videos we watched and from the VIA presentation. Using all of this newfound knowledge I was able to create works of art that I am extremely proud of.
My Doodle For Google Design
Assignment That I Am The Most Proud Of
This semester I was able to create all sorts of designs that I'm proud of. From movie posters, to digital paintings, all the way to logos. But the design that I am the most proud of has to be my Google design. Everyday when I open my computer I see Google's logo on the front page, so to me it was amazing getting the chance to design my own. Even though I didn't submit it, I felt like I was creating something that could have an effect on the real world. During the assignment I got to utilize all sorts of new knowledge. I applied my understanding of typeface, colors, balance, and all of the tools in PhotoShop like: layers, the pen tool, and the shape tool. I also got to use the Wacom board for this design, which helped me recognize the power and potential that a drawing tablet had.
