Today we moved to Tartu, the second biggest city in Estonia, located in the countryside.
After the journey we visited Tartu Art School (TAS) 3D Studio, which is a public vocational school where students can go after 9th grade or after 12th grade. They take studies about game engine, history and 3D or architecture and 3D, among others. The school also take electric courses to secondary schools, and for those who don't pass the exam to engage they take courses to prepare themselves to create a portfolio and be able to pass the exam.
Siim Soonsein, the Head of the 3D department, and Madleen Vapper, TAS communication specalist, told us that the reputation of this school is growing fast, although there is still stigma about vocational studies versus university studies. They have also showed us the building and the classrooms, located in two separate buildings, and which are filled with material that mainly is get by external funds obtained thanks to the participation in very good projects. Finally, they told us that many of the students have the opportunity to go abroad during the course or after finnishing it, thanks to Erasmus projects, and that there are many events in the city where they can participate and show their creations.

In the afternoon we went to visit Origami Keskus Center, a studio where Mrs Anne Rudanovski and Mrs Tiina Kraav develop a project about Maths and Origami. They attend students and adults and teach maths using origami sculptures. They also go to schools to have lessons with kids and participate in lots of demostrations. They are trying to raise again the project after covid time.
