STEAMcat+ Logo contest

The Erasmus+ project STEAMcat+ steering committee is looking for a logo, which will help to identify this European project. In order to engage the participants of the eight Catalan schools involved, the steering committee is announcing a competition to design a logo. The new logo will be used in all the documents and online sites of the project.

Goals and content

The purpose of the competition is to choose a logo that best reflects the main topics STEAMcat+ focuses on: .....................

Eligibility

  1. The contest is open to all the students from the schools involved in the project.

  2. Every school project coordinator together with the steering committee is responsible for organising the contest in each school and choosing their final candidate during the first phase of the competition.

  3. Each participant can only submit one entry.

  4. All the submissions must be original student work previously unpublished. They should not violate the intellectual property rights of any person or entity.

  5. Logo design parameters:

· Measure (aprox):

Large: 1200 x 1200 px

Medium: 820 х 820 px

Small: 170 х 170 px

· Technic: Any but it has to be sent in JPEG and PNG

· Colour: Maximum 3 colours (+white) One must be the orange (#ff4f04ff), one of the colours of the STEAMcat program.

· It should include the acronym STEAMcat+ in a prominent position.​ The acronym can be placed at the top, at the bottom or at one side.

  1. Submissions become the property of the Catalan Department of Education and they can be used for any purposes of the organisation. The right to publish any of the submissions is reserved.

  2. The organisers reserve the right to edit, adapt or modify the winning logo.

  3. These rules should be published on all the school websites.

  4. By entering the competition , the participants agree to respect the rules stated here.

  5. Any unforeseen issue will be solved by the project steering committee.

Submission guidelines

Every school is free to decide the school year and the number of students participating in the competition.

Each school will publish its final candidate by 22nd January 2021

The logos will be exposed in a digital way, like Padlet

The STEAMcat logo competition will have two phases:

School Internal Phase

Every school steering committee will choose the number and school year of the participants be bound to give the participants a lesson on the cultural and language identity before designing the logos. The European project unit will provide different lesson plans on good models to follow.

  • decide how to collect the submissions

  • display the submissions at the school and on the school website.

  • choose the selection process making sure the students’ voice is heard.

  • notify the final result in the school via the school website,STEAMcat+ Sites space and on any other online sites used in the project.

Final Phase

The winning entry will be selected by:

  • an online polling at the STEAMcat+ Sites space. Each school will vote for one submission (cannot vote their own logo). The result will be taken into consideration for the final selection (50%)

  • a panel composed of two members (one teacher + one student) from each school and two members from the STEAMcat team, on behalf of the Catalan Department of Education, will select their winning entry. The result will be taken into account for the final selection (50%)

The same panel will publish the winning entry taking into account the two previous polls via the Sites space on February 1st, 2021.

Prizes

All the final candidates will receive a certificate and a 50-euro-voucher for school material.

The winner will receive a certificate and a 100-euro-voucher for school material.

Image rights

1. All the images (photographs, videos, etc) taken during the contest in the internal phase will be handled following the schoool protocols.

2. All the images resulting from the award ceremony will be property of the Catalan Department of Education.

Rules acceptance

The organisers reserve the right to modify these rules if it is deemed necessary, in which case, the participants should be informed in advance.

Each school board and project coordinator agrees to respect these rules and assumes responsibility in the internal school phase.

By entering, the participants agree to respect all the contest rules.
