CRUX is the co-curricular committee for consulting on campus. The committee's vision is to promote XLRI as a premier consulting destination.

As consulting becomes one of the most sought-after career options at XLRI and with many of our alumni holding leadership positions at the finest firms across the globe, CRUX is dedicated to honing current students' consulting skills and helping them achieve their goals in this career path. Regular events, competitions, and activities are organized by CRUX, to help equip students with the tactics and knowledge required to successfully convert opportunities in the consulting industry.                                                                 

Our Mission:

CRUX aims to hone XLRI students' consulting skills by helping them transition into a successful consulting career by helping them with preparation guidance, resources, and sessions. 

CRUX prepares and releases the official casebooks of XLRI that are used by 20+ B schools for preparation. 

The committee aims to offer consultancy and research services to startups and organizations by leveraging the diverse and talented student base at XLRI Jamshedpur, our access to knowledge resources, and extensive faculty expertise.

CRUX is also dedicated to facilitating partnerships with consultancy and research firms for on and off-campus branding. The mission is to develop fruitful long-term relations between XLRI and the consulting industry,                                                                                        

Our Activities:

With these objectives, the committee actively organizes several events throughout the year, which engage the students and help them prepare for success in a career in management consulting. 

The committee provides students with resources that refine their case analysis and interviewing skills through information sessions, interview workshops, case study competitions, and strategy simulation games through flagship events such as Synergy and Consquad.

The committee works actively to provide necessary opportunities to XLRI students for learning and interaction with the consulting industry by organizing various interactions with peers within and outside of campus. 

CRUX maintains a website for consulting preparation which includes 200+ cases and guesstimates, 8+ hours of preparation videos, and interview & internship experiences among other resources.

In the 14th year now, we aim to give readers a detailed view of various kinds of cases asked in consulting interviews and the frameworks that maybe be leveraged for solving them. To aid students’ preparation and a general understanding of case interviews, we have updated industry reports and a quick factsheet for guesstimates towards the end of the casebook that gives the users an idea of various industry drivers and might be helpful while solving cases. A new addition to this year’s casebook has been frequently asked behavioral questions during the interviews which we believe will be helpful for the aspirants.

The document is a collection of various cases that the candidates were asked about through the course of their placement at XLRI. We want to take this opportunity to thank them for their contributions to the preparation of the book. Additionally, we have preserved a few classic cases from the past casebook as well.

The book is being released in the public domain with the hope that it benefits its readers immensely and they pass it on to whoever requires it as well. 

While we have made all efforts to keep the cases unique, given the repeatable nature of case interview questions and the similar nature of varied frameworks and industry reports, we duly regret any resemblance. We would love for our readers to point out the same by informing us on LinkedIn, and we will take steps not to include the same in future editions.
