Multimedia Journalism (J2)
About Journalism 2
In Journalism 2, students become section editors and not only write for that section but also generate story ideas for that section. These students hone in on editing skills, maintain our Instagram and Facebook account, learn about photography and build a business plan for the newspaper. Student in this class are required to maintain a daily widget on the paper.

Grading
Students will be graded every 2 weeks on their tweets, and Instagram posts. Gram posts need photo credit to receive credit. WhenÂ
Widgets need to be posted daily or scheduled to post daily. All widgets need a photo and photo proper credit or points will be deducted.
Articles will be graded as a major assessment. Students will have a week to research the topic, interview at least 2 reliable people, take a photo, compose their article and get the article edited by 2 team members. Points will not be deducted for late articles as long as the student makes the me aware of the obstacles they are facing in meeting the deadline.Â
Because some articles are time sensitive, if articles are not finished in a timely fashion, they may not be published. If articles do not meet the requirements, I reserve the right to not publish the article, however, I will explain what needs to be fixed in order for it to be published.
Each student will select a topic for their article. The topic is reserved only when it is entered on the newspaper log
All articles must go through rounds of editing. J1 students must get their article edited by a J1 student and a J2 or J3. Students will be graded on peer editing of other's articles.
ALLÂ articles, videos, pictures, music, scripts, characters and ideas are expected to be that of the student. Copyright infringement will nit be tolerated and will result in a zero on the assignment. All music and pictures must be labeled for reuse.
