Eligibility (No pass/No play)
Do NOT use semester grades for eligibility.
Make sure all student work is turned in by student work cut off day in column 3.
Grades 70 and above are passing UNLESS it is listed below in the exempt class list:
HONORS class (the below listed honors classes need to be a 60 or higher), or
AP or DUAL CREDIT class (the below listed AP and DC classes are waived, meaning you can make any grade and it does not affect eligibility.)
Students can only lose eligibility at: 1p2, 9w1, 9w2, or 9w3. Once eligibility is lost, students can regain eligibility at any progress report or report card. To regain eligibility after failing, you must pass ALL classes at the next grading period listed on the chart, not just the one that was failing.
Look at the column called "Eligibility Changes at 4pm on" to see when you regain or lose eligibility. This day will determine which grading period is eligibility for that game, contest, etc. It needs to be the one closest before the performance day.
Students who are ineligible must come to practices to earn their grade, but cannot travel, compete, or perform with the band in pep rallies, parades, games, contests, region contest, region band, solo and ensemble contest etc. HOWEVER, they can perform in winter and spring concerts and at UIL Concert and Sightreading Evaluation in the spring.
Please read both pages of document below to determine eligibility.
