Greetings Schoolcraft Families,
I hope you had a warm and happy holiday break filled with fun family memories. On Monday, January 4th students return to school remotely. Tuesday, January 19th is scheduled to be our first day back face to face. We learned a lot from our first few weeks back in person in October. Please consider the following materials and procedures when preparing for your child to return to school.
First, we learned a lot about students wearing masks. Student masks get wet and uncomfortable after physical activity. Packing your child a morning and afternoon mask would help them feel more comfortable after a fun recess or hard workout in gym. Masks need to be washed often. When wearing a mask all day, the mask is dirty by the end of the day. Some students were wearing the same mask all week without washing. Please consider stocking up on whatever brand mask your child prefers so they have multiple masks at school. Honestly, we were shocked that almost every child wore their mask appropriately for the full day. Teachers gave reminders for students to "pull up their masks" but most students followed directions immediately. Thank you for working so hard to ensure they learned the proper way to wear a mask.
Second, pick up and drop off. We will be adjusting the times for pick up and drop off closer to our start date. During morning drop off, students will continue entering through three different doors to avoid crossing. During afternoon pick up, students will be brought to your vehicle. Once you have your child, you may pull to the left lane to pass and leave the parking lot. Please do not pass cars without your child unless directed by a staff member. We do not want to load kids in cars in the left passing lane and cause a traffic jam or put staff or students at risk.
Third, the Health Screening Acknowledgement form needs to be filled out before students return to school. Please follow directions and the links below to finish that as soon as possible.
We look forward to a fun and safe 2021!

Ms. Back's 4th grade class had a virtual snowball fight and then used their knowledge of multiplication models to quickly count and see which team won.
Students at Schoolcraft Elementary are taking reading seriously and trying to meet their daily Lexia goals. Mrs. Michell's class does a weekly check in to celebrate success and set new goals.
Emily collected and delivered bags of Toys to Lighthouse from the generous Schoolcraft community. Thank you for organizing this opportunity Emily!
