IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT Concurrent Enrollment
Required GPA of 3.0 for Class Difficulty -Student must take the ACT (College Entrance Exam) before enrollment in English or Math concurrent classes. A $5 fee will be charged for each credit hour earned.
If you possess a desire to seek challenging, rigorous educational opportunities for both high school and college credit, you may be interested in registering for concurrent enrollment credit.
Students must be admitted and pay the admission fee to the University prior to registering for a concurrent class. The student must pay $5 per credit hour registration fee to the university for each concurrent class which they are registered.
A few courses, such as English 1010 and Communications 2110 are available to seniors only. English 1010, you must have an English and Reading ACT score of 17 or higher or an Accuplacer of 90 to enroll in this course. Comm. 2110 may not be considered English 12 credit, for example BYU. Math 1050/1060 must have an ACT Math score of 23 or an Accuplacer math score of 60 and completion of Math 1, 2, and 3. It is expected that students will have the necessary background and meet the academic requirements to demonstrate success in concurrent enrollment courses. It is required that concurrent enrollment students have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Some institutions may require minimum ACT scores or Accuplacer scores in addition to the minimum 3.0 GPA before enrollment at the university or for specific courses.
All concurrent enrollment course registrations will take place by the 1st week of the semester.
Universities require 90% attendance or better in all concurrent enrollment courses.
Students will be responsible to purchase required books, outline, and/or supplies as required by the university.
Once you register for concurrent enrollment credit, you may not drop the course.
The grade you earn in any concurrent enrollment course will become part of your permanent high school transcript and this grade will affect your cumulative GPA as well as your college transcript.
College credit for concurrent enrollment is not guaranteed from year to year. It is determined by the university as to which courses and instructors qualify to offer the credit.
