This class offers an in-depth look at living things. Cells, ecology, genetics, and animal and plant systems are the main areas of study. Labs are a main part of the class. It is recommended for honors level sophomores, juniors, and seniors wishing to earn college credit. Students who earn a score of 3 or above on the AP test will earn college credit. The class is recommended for students interested in a science-related career, such as medical, environmental, etc., or non-science majors trying to fulfill general science requirements.

AP Physics is an amazing science class full of a variety of explorations and adventures!  It will challenge you in amazing and fun ways!  We will do many hands-on learning projects and interesting investigations.  We will study the following topics:

Kinematics (The study of motion), Forces (Tension, Gravitational, Electrical, Centripetal, etc.), Work, Energy and Power, Momentum, Torque, Oscillations and Waves, and Fluid Dynamics!

This class is designed to introduce the subject of chemistry and requires no prior chemistry experience. This course is not a prerequisite to any other science courses, but does provide a good foundation in the qualitative aspects of chemistry.  Passing this class course will earn 3 credit hours.  This course satisfies the Physical Science General Education learning outcomes. The key topics of the class include atomic and molecular structure, element trends, bonding and interactions between atoms, energy in chemistry, nuclear chemistry, and equilibrium.

This class is designed for those who enjoyed the genetics section of their biology class and want to go into more depth to understand how genes and traits work. In this class we will review the basics of how proteins are made, how they are inherited, and how they can be altered. We will go into more depth about genetic engineering, dealing with all the genetic engineering technologies happening in the world. There will be hands-on labs to help understand these concepts better.

Description 

This course will introduce you to how to apply medical science to the law regarding the human body. You will learn to investigate crime scenes and how DNA, toxicology, fingerprints, blood spatter, trace evidence, bones, and other evidence can all lead you to figure out what happened at the crime scene and who committed the crime.

Description 

This course places an emphasis on the principles of computer science with minimum programming. Creativity, abstraction, data, algorithms, security, internet, and problem solving are topics discussed in the course. Students will use python, the easiest programming language to implement certain skills. Students will become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and computation thinkers. This course will help students gain a competitive advantage in future careers. (10th grade recommended) but all grades can take this course.
