Description
Fitness for Life is a required course aligned with Utah state physical education standards that combines classroom learning with physical activity. This course focuses on teaching students the importance of lifelong fitness, healthy lifestyles, and the development of personal wellness plans. The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical components:
Classroom Portion: Students will study topics such as muscular strength. Muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and body composition. This portion helps students understand the relationship between physical health, mental well-being, and quality of life.
Workouts and Activities: Students will engage in various physical activities, including aerobic exercises, strength training, flexibility exercises, and team or individual sports. Emphasis will be placed on applying fitness concepts to create personalized fitness goals and plans.
The Fitness for Life course equips students with the tools and knowledge needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout their lives.
