As I'm off sick, please use the time to immerse yourself in one of the core reading texts: Teaching Today, a practical guide by Geoff Petty, which is a widely acknowledged manual on 'how to teach'.
Please focus on PART 4: Putting it all together, make notes, be ready to share & exemplify from your own practice how to:
write effective lesson aims and objectives
explain Bloom's Taxonomy & the three learning domains
characterise the differences between the educare and CIA approaches
explain the PAR model (the attached video may be useful)
If you manage, look through the principles of Planning courses/Scheme of work.
*aim to gain an understanding about the above rather than in-depth knowledge and read selectively focusing on the key ideas you could easily implement; Petty adds plenty of additional information, you don't need to know everything at once
For those already familiar with Petty's book, feel free to supplement with additional sources, e.g. Ann Gravells' website or Essential Teaching Skills, it's also useful to refer to Petty's website on a regular basis.
