Character building highs!

There have been so many moments this week that we have stopped, smiled and and just enjoyed your amazing children!  The week has been packed with so many fantastic character building opportunities from the Sports Day events and Swimming Galas, to our Aladdin rehearsals and our brand new, and unforgettable Year 6 residential trip to Ford Castle.  Every event challenged and developed the teamwork skills, resilience, confidence and behaviours that children need to succeed in a wider society, and it was a complete joy to see the children really rise to that challenge!

We also appreciated the opportunity to meet with parents once again.  Thank you to everyone who supported at the sports events and attended the Reception and Year 1 transition meetings and coffee morning this week.

Growing beans!

From planting ,growing, caring for ,watering, watching them grow to picking , shelling ,cooking and eating...

KS1 Sports Day

Key Stage 1 enjoyed their sports day on Tuesday afternoon. We saw some fabulous throwing, catching, jumping and running. Everyone really gave each event their all, cheered their friends on and waited patiently when others had their turn. We are extremely proud of them! The children also thoroughly enjoyed watching some very competitive parent races and loved helping their little brothers and sisters in the toddler race.

LKS2 Sports Day

It was lovely to see the children in years 3 and 4 cheering each other on at their Sports Day on Tuesday. The children showed great teamwork displaying: determination, perseverance and resilience to complete each activity. This children enjoyed a very well earn lolly at the end of the events while we had 2 competitive parents race, a toddler race and teachers egg and spoon race.

It was lovely to see so many children enjoying the events with big smiles on their faces to do their best. Many thanks to all of the parents/grandparents who supported our sports day. It was a lovely morning

UKS2 Sports Day

Today our amazing Year 5 and 6 children set the ball rolling with the first sports day on our primary site. They showed amazing teamwork, listened well and were a credit to parents and the school with their exceptional behaviour.

A big thank you to all parents for supporting the children and cheering them on, and for their support for staff during their race. It was also fantastic to have some parental participation in some of the races too. A brilliant, memorable afternoon.

Congratulations to Ebony who completed the fantastic achievement of climbing Ben Nevis last weekend. Ebony chose to climb highest mountain in Britain to raise money for Macmillan Cancer, a charity close to her families heart. So far she has raised over £600!

Leavers Hoodies

Our wonderful Year 6 children very smartly modelling their school leavers hoodies. An array of colours to match the array of personalities. The children can wear their hoodies during the final week of school, instead of their school jumpers, with school school trousers and polo shirts.

School Uniform (new link)

Please note the change of web address for our school uniform supplier (this is the same supplier, they have reorganised their website).  Emblematic have advised us that all orders are processed daily and are dependant on stock availability from their suppliers.  Due to some supply issues, some orders may take longer than 28 days to deliver. They advise placing orders as early as possible for the new school year.

Please could we also remind parents that leggings are not part of our school uniform (see below).  Leggings may be used as part of the PE uniform, but should not be used for daily wear in the classroom.

Skills Builder - Teamwork

Well done to this weeks smiley award winners and to all the children who participated so brilliantly at our Sports Day events and to those who have already taken part in our summer swimming gala.  It's been quite a fun-filled and action packed week of competition and we'd like to thank each and every child for taking part with great a great sporting attitude and friendly competitive spirit!

Attendance Matters

Attendance Matters

As we continue to recover from the disruption to children’s education caused by the pandemic, it is now more important than ever that children’s attendance is good or better.  Every second in school counts, as missing school, whether by being late or taking unnecessary days off, creates more new learning gaps which need to addressed.  The best way you can support your child to recover from the lost school time of recent years is to ensure they are in school and ready to learn every day.

We want every child's attendance to be good.  This means 96%+.   This weeks year group attendance figures:

Well done Year 6 - 100% attendance this week, what a fantastic achievement! There's a special attendance treat on it's way to you next week!

We have received an increased number of holiday request forms in recent weeks.  Please do not take your child out of school during term time as it disrupts your child’s learning and you risk financial penalties.  Please could we urge parents to book holidays during the 13 weeks of annual school holidays that are available each year.  Unfortunately we are unable to authorise leave from school except in EXCEPTIONAL circumstances.

If leave has not been authorised and your child is out of school then you may receive a minimum fine of £60 per child, per parent.  If the time out of school makes your child’s attendance drop below 90% then they are known as persistently absent under the governments attendance definitions.  This means that you may face prosecution through the courts.

Please help us to help your child catch up by ensuring they are in school and ready to learn every day.
