Discover the history and geography of the Great Wall with documentary maker and Great Wall expert, William Lindesay. William has written multiple books on the Great Wall and even presented a National Geographic documentary on it. William is an inspirational man whose passion for the Wall is contagious. You will stay at The Barracks, his home and educational centre, near the Great Wall and experience the wall in a way that is not possible on a traditional, tourist, guided tour.
Note: Northern China is cold in November, and the trip involves outdoor activities as well as hiking some steep sections of the wall. It is physically demanding and is aimed at students who would like a challenge. Please be advised.

On this trip, students will stay in traditional ring shaped 'tulou' homes at the incredible UNESCO world heritage site. They will participate in cultural activities and hands-on workshops to better understand and appreciate the Fujianese culture. You will travel by high speed rail.
