AGS Endorsement and Honors Cords
The end goal for all AGS scholars entering the program is to be a recipient of the AGS Endorsement and AGS Honors Cords at graduation their 12th grade year. Both are excellent conversation points as students get accepted in colleges, participate in scholarship competitions, and create a list of awards and recognitions for the college application process. All students who complete 4 years of the AGS program will automatically receive their Honors Cords. For more information on how to receive our highest honor, the AGS Endorsement, please click here!
College Credit Plus (CCP)
The Academy of Global Studies is happy to provide students the opportunity to take College Credit Plus classes during their 4 years of high school. Our 12th grade global seminar class has the option of college credit through Cincinnati State Community College. Through this course, students learn how to take action in their local communities using the psychology of leadership! In addition, we offer students the ability to take up to 14 hours of college credit in mathematics. We currently offer CCP College Algebra, CCP Pre-Calc, CCP Stats, and CCP Calculus through Cincinnati State Community College which are offered here on campus.
AGS 4 Year Outlook and Curriculum Guide
In order to ensure that our students receive as many honors as possible upon graduation, we have a 4-year outlook that our counseling department uses to schedule our students' classes. This 4-year outlook is designed to ensure that our students receive the AGS Honors Cords, the AGS Endorsement, and have the potential to receive one of Ohio's Honors Diplomas so long as they have the appropriate unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above OR a composite ACT score of 27 or higher. Please click here to view the 4-year outlook.
High school students can gain state recognition for exceeding Ohio’s graduation requirements through an honors diploma. Students challenge themselves by taking and succeeding at high-level coursework and in real-world experiences.
Ohio students have the opportunity to choose to pursue one of six honors diplomas:
International Baccalaureate Honors Diploma
Social Science and Civic Engagement Honors Diploma
*includes dance, drama/theatre, music and visual art.
