Rapid Transition - Start Here

Face-to-face classes can not be held! Now what do I do?

The following pages contain the most important things to review in the event that you have to make a rapid transition to fully online so that you can keep teaching. Start here by reading through these resources first and use the links on those pages to dig a little deeper.

After you have read through those pages and resources, you may want to jump into the Contingency Planning Course below if you need a more structured review of what to do and the tools within D2L/LIVE. If you are OK learning the tools on your own then visit the Resource Bank and get started learning about the different tools. Here is a great webinar recording about getting started in Brightspace. We strongly recommend that you review some of the webinar recordings on the Trainings and Workshops page as well. They provide helpful tips and tricks that might not be included in the other resources.

If you requested a sandbox course while on the Preliminary Preparation Planning, now is a good time to start to work with the tools in your sandbox before you begin to create learning activities and content in your actual course shells.

Once you have your courses set up, then review the resources on the Online Facilitation page that will help you moderate and manage your new online courses.

It also provides some basic facilitation information to guide faculty on best practices in online teaching.
