What will student learning spaces look like?
Our teachers know how important it is for your student's classroom environment to be an inviting space that is conducive to learning. This year, we are also following all the state guidelines to ensure that each physical space is as safe as possible. Rooms will still be individualized as the classroom community develops and grows over time, but they will share the following features:
Our teachers know how important it is for your student's classroom environment to be an inviting space that is conducive to learning. This year, we are also following all the state guidelines to ensure that each physical space is as safe as possible. Rooms will still be individualized as the classroom community develops and grows over time, but they will share the following features:
- All students will have desks in their classroom.
- All desks will face in the same direction and allow for a minimum of six feet between students.
- All classrooms will have sanitizing stations and/or sinks.
- All students will have their own personal storage bin, provided by the school, for pencils, notebooks and other materials. To the greatest extent possible, students will not share materials.
- All students will have a designated, individual place for backpacks and jackets.
- Students will still work in small groups with their teacher, wearing masks, and there will be tables designated for small group instruction if space allows.
- All classrooms will be equipped with new Promethean boards.
- Plush items, upholstered furniture, rugs and carpets will be removed during Phase 1 of our reopening to ensure effective deep cleaning can be achieved.
