The Westside Union School District (WUSD) is pleased to offer teaching positions to individuals working on their preliminary teaching credentials.
Eligibility for Pre-Intern & Intern Program
Pre-Interns
Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited university.
Candidates must complete the WUSD interview process and be offered a teaching position as a full time teacher of record.
Interns
Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited university.
Candidates must be accepted into a credential program by an accredited university.
Candidates must be recommended for an intern credential through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) by their university.
Candidates must complete the WUSD interview process and be offered a teaching position as a full time teacher of record.
Mentoring Supports
The district's Intern Coordinators work diligently to support our candidates within the Pre-Intern/Intern Program in all aspects of classroom instruction as they work to develop the California Teacher Performance Expectations, complete their teacher preparation coursework, and earn their preliminary teaching credentials.
Candidates within the Pre-Intern/Intern program receive support for a minimum of one hour per week, on average.
