Well met! My name is Rosario De la Torre and I reside in the Barony of Tarmist, which is the southern most section of the Kingdom of the West. Although I have researched most of these topics for 19 years now, I have lived on a homestead with my family for the last 11 years, which has allowed me to play with many different stinky, messy, dirty, and time intensive arts and sciences. These include: raising period livestock, butchering, cheese making, cooking, baking, gardening, growing period fruits, fiber crafts, playing with hides, soap making, candle making, tool making, working with bone, sewing, and many other odds and ends. My space allows me to hold classes for these crafts that would otherwise not have a venue that would welcome them.
Thank you so much for visiting my Artisan Display page. I love researching and talking about all things involved with agriculture and its products. Feel free to get a hold of me through FB under Rosario Depew or through email: rosariodelatorre@westkingdom.org
Linen twisted wick beeswax dipped candles
Medieval Soaps from Rendering tallow and making lye to shaping of scented soap balls
Different period fruits and vegetables grown on the homestead for feasts
Raising sheep, shearing, processing wool through the suint fermenting method, finishing with creating wool slippers using home soap.
Although I have made rings and needles before, the ability to cure the bones and create more things out of them is fascinating me at the moment. I harvest the bones from our livestock that we have butchered and use them.
I am currently working on setting up a weekly short class regarding my arts and sciences, be on the look out for when they start going live!
Miscellaneous crafts: Ink making from gall/iron/rain water and birch bark container for candle storage.
