Hello! I am Kelsy Aylesworth and I have been playing in the West for over 30 years.
My best friend brought me to my first event, she found it in college.
When I first started playing I was all about the fighting, I was a “light fighter” back then and gave no real thought to the Arts and Sciences. I really felt that I had no real artistic ability.
My husband and I took a break from the Society when our children got to an age that forcing them to come to events really made our lives miserable and there were many other events going on in their lives.
We solidly returned, around 11 years ago, with a “plan” to be more involved in the whole experience. We certainly have done that!!
In 2012 my dad passed away suddenly and I was looking for distractions. I took a class on Chain stitch, taught by Joan the Harper, at our Kingdom A&S event. I had tried cross stitch and blackwork before but never managed to finish anything. My dad was really good at cross stitch .
I managed to finish the thing we started in class and I kept going! Non counted work seemed more my speed. I even started doing other arts things too. I continue taking classes and learning new things.
Copy, paste, blow up, shrink down and trace are the best friends for this unartistic brain!!!
