Introduction

With the recent move to remote and online teaching, a need has arisen to provide affordable training for faculty who are teaching these courses. Just as the craft of teaching face-to-face classes is developed over time and with practice, the same is true with teaching online. The USG Online Certification Series is designed to help build this craft, beginning with the first step of learning how to develop and design an online course. As you go through the lessons, keep in mind that some students, given these turbulent times, may not have access to the Internet or a computer. Please see the page on UDL Principles for direction on working with these students. This course focuses on Course Development and Design.

This module, put together under the direction of Camille Pace, MSAS, covers the following topics:

  1. Course Resources

  2. Important Terms, Definitions, and Examples

  3. USG Expectations, Policies, and Procedures

  4. Useful Links
