Quality Matters (QM) is a well-known organization and leader for quality online course design. At the heart of QM’s quality assurance program is the Quality Matters Rubric. Courses submitted for QM review that meet Rubric standards receive official QM certification.
QM General Standard 8: Accessibility and Usability
The QM Rubric is divided into eight general standards (optional). General Standard 8 addresses accessibility and usability with six specific review standards.
Usability Standards: 8.1, 8.2, and 8.5
Accessibility Standards: 8.3, 8.4, and 8.6
Specific standards are rated Essential (three points), Very Important (two points), or Important (one point). All essential, three-point standards must meet QM guidelines at a level of 85% or better for a course to receive QM certification.
