How do students demonstrate these competencies?

Students demonstrate competencies and the skills within them through completing studios. These studios have a similar structure. Let's break this down:

A studio contains:

  • Competencies & Skills

  • Inquiry Question

  • Preview of the Project

  • Feedback Logs

  • Milestones and Stepping Stones

1️⃣ Competencies & skills

Each studio starts with competencies. Each learning opportunity is aligned to the competencies. You will see these on the HOME page of every studio. Throughout the studio, you will see which skills go with which task!

2️⃣ Inquiry Question

Each studio is really an investigation that students are conducting. Therefore, each studio will have an inquiry question at the beginning on the HOME page. For example, this studio's inquiry question is: "What does Freedom Mean to Me?"

3️⃣ Preview the Project

Each studio will also have a section called Preview the Project. This helps the student take a look at the whole project and how their work will be rated. They will even have a list of tasks for the studio. They will goal set with teachers to plan out the work load.

5️⃣ Milestones and Stepping Stones

Each studio is structured with Milestones and Stepping Stones. A Milestone is a big bucket of learning. It works as a table of contents. A stepping stone is the learning activity or task that exists to let students meet a skill. This is the side bar navigation that is always on the left.
