Week of February 25th, 4th, & 11th/ "Where I'm From" Mixed Media Project

Students will use the writing from their English class, "Where I'm From" and expand to elements of who they are to create a sculpture using a foam mannequin head for a surface. Various materials from paint to magazine pieces, and found objects may be included.

Week of March 18th & April 8th/ Fabric Bowl Project

Students will learn how to make a decorative bowl out of fabric using a paper bowl for a mold, fabric pieces, saran wrap, and Stiffy glue. 

Week of April 15th / Clay Shoe Project

Students will be able to make a clay sculpture of a shoe. Students will learn a couple possible ways of constructing a shoe, from an additive approach which would involve cutting the base and then wrapping a thin slab around it or a subtractive approach, which would involve pulling pieces of clay off of a block of clay to make the shoe. Once complete and air dried, sculptures will be fired in the kiln and then painted using acrylic paints.

Week of April 22nd, 29th, May 6th & 13th/ Found Object Group Project, Marble Slide

Students will be able to work on their engineering, creative, and collaborative skills to create a 2 foot slide that a marble can travel through, from top to bottom.
