On March 2022, my dad came up to me and asked me if I wanted to run in a 5.4 km marathon in Benchakitti Park. I had remembered that I had nothing to put into the activity area of my CAS portfolio, so I instantly agreed. I don't think I realized how much 5.4 km was for a teenager like me who never stepped out of the house. On the day of the marathon, I had to wake up at 5 am on a weekend and I was clearly not taking the marathon seriously. After I reached the area for the marathon, I started to panic a little bit after finally realizing how much I would have to run. I started to initiate a plan on how I would control my breathing while running the marathon. After the marathon started, I had taken an early lead and sprinted my way in front, but as time passed I had started to slow down. I grabbed about 3 bottles of water during the marathon, and during the end of the marathon I wanted to faint, but I pushed myself and ran all the way to the finish line. After I reached the finish line, all of the people seemed excited while looking at me while I was utterly confused and glad that I had even finished the marathon without throwing up. All of the people said that I had won the marathon in the U-16 section. I was awarded with a trophy, and this sparked a new confidence and passion in me for athletics.
