This was a trip held by Thai club where we went to Samakeesongkraw School, which is a school for low income families. On this trip we helped lighten the kid's day by giving goodie bags and playing games with them hoping to give them a little bit of happiness before their reality sets in ( opium for the pain), we also gave a small donation to the school, we also taught abit of English and phrases. Even though what we're doing is good I feel like we're inefficient since what we did was help them for abit but we never truly did help them because even though we donated to the school the kids there are still in poverty and also the school is going to get knocked down to build a road. This shows how little the Thai government really cares about their low income citizens but I digress from this trip I really learned how low income people's schools are ran as well as the issues that the school face such as the government wanting to bulldoze the school to build a road.
Students are able to identify, demonstrate and critically discuss the benefits and challenges of collaboration gained through CAS experiences.
The CAS learning outcome from this experience is learning outcome number 5 ( 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively), the reason for this is because I had to work with peers to make a small teaching schedule/teaching plan as well as organize the games and such that the kids will be participating , because of this everyone had little amount of work to do and everything was a bit efficient ( we sucked at the presenting part atleast I did).
