Science

Kate Morton

Department Head (6-8 )

Middle school science is engaging, challenging, and supportive. Students are taught scientific habits of mind, learn to read nonfiction science text, and use evidence and reasoning to craft scientific conclusions.  Themes such as structure and function, energy and matter, cause and effect, and systems are found in  all three grades. Each grade has specific content learning goals based on the Massachusetts State Science Frameworks and Wellesley Middle School Science Curriculum Guide.

Science classrooms are well equipped for scientific exploration.  Safety is always a priority and every classroom is equipped with appropriate safety equipment.

Grade 6 Content

The underlying theme in our 6th grade curriculum is the story of motion.  Content includes topics from physical, and Earth and space science.
