About the team and where to find them

Ms. Kate Tse

 (School Counsellor)

Kate's Office is in Block D
1st floor

Kate is a member of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association (HKPCA) and a registered social worker (RSW) under the Social Workers Registration Board of Hong Kong. She obtained her Masters of Social Science in Counselling from the University of Hong Kong (HKU), with focus on working with individuals and their families in therapeutic sessions. She specializes in working with adolescents and their family members. She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. 

 

Kate has over ten years of frontline experience working in both Local and International school settings with a thorough understanding of the IGCSE, IB, DSE curriculums in Hong Kong. Her passion lies in enhancing the wellbeing of students to develop a growth mindset via artistic expression and other therapy models. Kate has supported students with diverse cultural backgrounds, personalities, and socio-economic conditions. She strongly believes in the importance of the mind-body-spirit connections and enjoys finding creative strategies and activities to support individuals in the discovery of their own personal strengths, expression of emotions and problem solving capability.  Kate understands and values the importance of working with students in a safe and supportive environment.  

 

Kate was born and raised in Hong Kong and now lives here with her husband and their little boy. They enjoy exploring new hikes around Hong Kong and trying out different cuisines as a family. Kate describes herself as an adventurer who loves travelling. 


Ms. Lorna Wong

 (School Counsellor)

Lorna's Office is in Block D
6th floor

Lorna is a counsellor with over 10 years of experience working in various fields, including schools, hospitals, training centres, and non-government welfare organisations.


She provides counselling to children, adolescents, couples, and families on various issues including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, grief, addiction, self-esteem, self-harm, ADHD, ASD, relationship issues, and family issues.


She is passionate about working with adolescents and creating a space that allows them to navigate their thoughts, feelings, and vulnerabilities at a comfortable pace. She adopts an integrated and person-centred therapeutic approach to her counselling, using concepts from cognitive behavioural, emotion-focused, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based where appropriate.


Lorna has a certificate in mental health first aid, performance coaching and family therapy. She graduated with a Master's degree in Counselling and has a  Postgraduate diploma in Trauma Psychology. Lorna has studied and worked in Hong Kong, Canada, and China and values multi-cultural sensitivity. She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Ms. Kamy Yeung
(School Social Worker)

Kamy's office is in Block D,
Ground Floor (near Refectory)

Ms. Kamy enjoys working with adolescents and believes that everyone has the strength to grow. She also believes that “the problem is not a problem but the coping is” (from Virginia Satir), and hopes to work together with people to find more choices in their lives. 

Apart from counselling, she also offers her help in group programmes, such as Anti-Drug Force Group, Awesome Girls’ Social training group, Greater Good: Mental Wellness project, Zentangle & Mindfulness courses, Mental Health First Aid course, to strengthen the growth and development of students.

Ms. Stephanie Wan (School Social Worker)

Stephanie's Office is in Block D
6th floor

Ms. Stephanie is dedicated to serving teenagers and enjoys listening to their life stories. She believes that everyone possesses the expertise to lead their own lives and she hopes to assist students to open up their lives to various possibilities. 

Apart from counselling, she runs the We Serve Community Service Team and organises different social and developmental programmes like Buddy Up, a social skills training group at South Island School.
