Objectives:
Continue integrating information and technology skills with classroom curriculum by teaching how to evaluate sources of information utilizing the methodology developed by Jennifer LaGarde and Darren Hudgins in their book Developing Digital Detectives: Essential Lessons for Discerning Fact From Fiction in the 'Fake News' Era. 6th grade will recive the intoductory lesson. Grades 7-12 will apply digital detective skills through real world examples to determine credibility of information, photos, and videos.
Integrate information and technology skills through MTAC student created materials that encourage students proper handling and best uses of Chromebooks utilizing the 4 C's, integrating new technology such as Promethean Boards, maintaining accurate records of technology devices.
Empower student voice in media center programming through surveys and interviews through the redesigning of the media center website.
Promote literacy throughout the year by highlighting events such as BBW, Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, Native American Heritage Month, and School Library Month.
